Anglers Wrap-up Season with a W
In the final regular season game of the season, the Anglers took on the Burbarians at both team's home park. A win for the Anglers would solidify a 6th place finish, while a loss would drop them to 8th on run differential. The Anglers brought in special reinforcements - team Coach/Dad joined as a DH to beef up the lineup, meaning there were 4 Metzlers in the lineup.
The Anglers got out to an early start with some patient ABs, bringing across 3 in first and second innings. The bats exploded in the third with a 9 run mercy inning, with a RBI single from Ward capping off the inning. Ward finished the day 1-3 with 4 walks and 3 RBIs, who finishes the season with a crisp 0.625 OBP.
On the mound, a duo of Mike and Chris Metzler worked through 5 fairly clean innings, mixing pitches and throwing lots of strikes to keep the Burbarians off the board despite some very tough ABs.
The final was 16-0 after 5 to put another Burby regular season in the books. Thanks to the Burbarians for another great season!
