Game Summary

Early in the season and the Hawks seemingly have an affinity for nail biters!!

Beauty day for some ball as the Kai travelled to the Hood for a “home” game.  Amin would start for the Kai, old man Tormey for the Hawks.  Tormey was a bit wild and it would bite him in the butt as super sub Derrick stepped to the plate with 2 on in the second and smoked one to right field to put the Kai up by 3 early.

Amin cruised through 3 despite an early “burby” injury (cut on the hand while opening the can of balls).  After a couple walks in the 4th, Nick would take over to finish the game.  The 5th would see him in a bit of trouble as the Hawks scored 4, highlighted by a 2 run double from Darren Osborne.  A pair of doubles from Darren and the newest edition to the Hawks, Dave Stoyanoff, in the 7th would give the Hawks a 5-3 lead.

The younger Tormey was dominating after taking over and a 2 run cushion sounds like a tidy win in the bottom of the 7th.  But super sub Derrick wagged his finger and drove a 2 run bomb from the other side of the plate to left.  Bam, tie game!

To the 8th we went and in the top half the Hawks clawed out another run as Dave walked with the bases juiced.  Eagan would angrily put the final nail in the coffin in the bottom half, Hawks over Kai 6-5
