Game Summary

Burbs can't buy a hit.

On an absolutely gorgeous Victoria Day the Burbarians of Birchmount traveled to the Hood to face the mighty Brickies. Leslieville had a rare five man lineup. Birchmount was in tough with Joey Rez, Jerome Persaud, Hentley Small and the travelling free agent, Derek Chu.

Jeff Snow has been  used selectivley this year thanks to a powerhouse hitting lineup and so he made the start and completed  five innings of no hit ball. Andrew Fuller, the trusty sidekick of Jeff went two innings without giving up a hit. If you do the math, that’s a combined no hitter for Leslieville.

The bright spot on offence for Birchmount was Derek Chu. Even though he didn’t have a hit, he squared up the ball nicely on Jeff Snow. He’s going to be a dangerous hitter for years to come.

Pitching wise Joey Resendez got into control issues early. He had good stuff but he was grinded down every at bat. After giving up a mercy inning in the 2 inning it was Hentley Small that took over. Looking more like Hancock on the bump, He cruised through the next 5 innings only giving up a couple runs. A fine outing for the Burby Vet.

Final score was 13-0.

Next up for the Brickies and Burbarians are the Cliffside Heights.
