Brickies Torch The Kai
Opening day! And the home opener for the Brickies. Their opponent… The team they faced in the final last year. The Guildwood Cobra Kai. That game would be a close affair with a 5–2 final for Leslieville. This game unfortunately was not close.
Trusty sidekick to Jeff Snow, Andrew Fuller got the start on the mound and he does what he does. There was a little bit of bend but zero break. He finished off a tidy two innings with no runs allowed.
The veteran workhorse Andreas Constantinou got the start for the Kai. There was a lot of bending and several breaks. It all started off in the second inning when Oswald Alvarez smashed a three run bomb to centerfield to take a quick 3–0 lead. Oswald also hit another moon shot later in the game. He ended up with seven RBIs and is the early favourite for slugger of the year.
Adrian Golombek was a cheat code today at the plate. He went 7-8 with a variety of hits all over the field.
Jeff Snow was solid at the plate 6-8 with 4 RBI’s,but was spectacular on the mound. He didn’t give up a hit through 5 innings of work. Pitcher of the Year is in the works
The Kai were without their best hitter in Ashley Allinson but the rest of this squad are normally tough outs.

Notes
- 2024 Slugger of the year Andrew Fuller had an off day swinging the bat. Look for him to absolutely mash the ball in his next game at Van Horne.
⁃ Guildwood will play their home opener next week against Gerrard st. The Kai will be looking for revenge after losing their last meeting to the Rail Hawks 17–2.
