It was a hot and muggy Sunday afternoon at the Hood. 
 

Game time for the Hawks/Burbarians game had to be postponed until 3pm, putting both teams directly under the heat lamp.  But plenty of fluids were on hand and this one got toughed out!

Papa Tormey started for the Hawks and once again chucked 2 clean before handing the ball to junior.  All 3 Railhawk pitchers have been firing on all cylinders this year, a luxury Gerrard St does not take for granted.

Hentley got the starting assignment for Birchmount and got through 2 relatively unscathed.  But this game would take a turn in the 3rd as the Hawks made up for a lot of anemic offence and nail biters this season.  6 in the 3rd, 9 in the 4th and 7 in the 5th.  The Railhawks took flight on this day!

Not sure if it would have mattered who was pitching, every Hawk had at least 5 hits.  And these were not the normal train of singles and walks that Gerrard St would string together.  Derrick had 4 doubles and 5 ribbies.  Darren and Eagan both hit 3 home runs, one of Osborne’s was a salami and Junior hit for the cycle.  Both claimed 9 batted in.

Eagan would only need to pitch 4 before the mercy.  But Jerome did touch him for a solo shot and Hentley came a dinger short of the cycle himself.
