The Hawks soared into the Dragon’s Den on Saturday for a date with the Metzler Bros…and Joel Heard.
Wayner would get the start for the Hawks and Joe for the Anglers. In the top half of the first Eagan would break out of a small hitting slump, crushing an offering over the right field fence. The Metzlers would score one in the bottom and the game would remain 2-1 til the 6th.
Eagan came on to pitch in the 3rd for the Hawks and would shut down the Anglers the rest of the way. The father/son duo would make a couple of fine defensive plays to highlight the scoreless effort.
In the 6th, the Hawks finally spread their offensive wings. Darren Osborne would hit 2 key doubles (and be a HR short of a cycle) and Eagan would hit another blast with the bases juiced. Every Hawk had an RBI as they mercied the inning.
