After improving to 5-3 on the overall wins predictions here are this weeks picks:
Masons VS Vipers
Van Horne come into this game still looking for their first win of the year after a number of early season losses by semi blowouts. Masons are looking for a win after a tight loss against the Spartans last time out and should have an edge in this one by virtue of pitching with the Kings Conference's best kept secret rookie pitcher Joe Resendes but I am feeling like the Vipers rooks are ready to finally bear fruit and step up in this one.
Prediction: Vipers by 3
Cobra Kai VS Warriors
Warriors are looking to continue riding the hot bat of Nick Wadden having won the last 2 games and show no signs of slowing down. Cobra Kai were one out away from keeping a perfect record with a 1-0 lead when the Storm bats woke up to steal one at the Den last game and Junction should be a grumpy team looking to make a statement. Look for a high scoring game in this one
Prediction: Junction by 2
Spartans VS Hitmen
The hitmen have come into this season with a hangover still lingering from last years championship run having stumbling out the gate so far including the upset of the year by losing to the Don Mills Blue Jays dropping their record to 1-3. Riverdale has implemented their analytics approach by using pitching location and batter traits mobile app to near perfection having allowed only 3 runs all season. With a sighting of the Spartans head scout Robert Irvine tapping his ipad at the Blue Jays-Hitmen game last time out could the Spartans be on to something?
Prediction: Spartans by 3
Lock of the week
Blue Jays VS Storm
The Blue Jays will come into this one with confidence after upsetting the defending champs via some decent pitching by Gary Massey but now face the#1 team in the Power rankings this year in the Cedarbrae Storm who are (ho hum) only undefeated and have allowed 5 runs all year. The patient batting and plethora of available pitching arms of the Storm will give Don Mills a reality check in this one and will leave the Blue Jays again continually fighting to become an above .500 team.
Prediction: Storm by 4
