NEW TEAM FROM EAST ANNEX IS STAR STUDDED
The East Annex Blues would like to thank the Toronto Burby League for expanding this season.
Our modest goal of becoming the 1st expansion franchise to win a league title began a few years ago when Sean Briggs bumped into Joe Callaghan at Pape and Danforth. Multiple jugs of beer later, the seeds of a new franchise were sown. The Blues are a mix of east and west end residents and have tried to incorporate that in their name. They are massive jays fans and 20 year burby veterans with all the corresponding shoulder pain to match.
Sean Briggs played baseball for Lawrence Park Collegiate, Leaside and U of T and will serve as the teams manager. Sean was Joe Callaghan's protégé at U of T and is currently pondering his Advil costs for the upcoming season.
Nick Cunjak played baseball for Birchmount Collegiate, U of T and the Asheville Braves. Nick also coached U of T after his playing career. An excellent hitter and lefty reliever, Nick hopes to avoid Aaron Loup numbers this season and will provide Devon White quality defence in the outfield.
Jr Bailey played basketball and football for St. Mikes High School and was a CIS basketball all star for Victoria and Guelph universities. A career amateur burby player, Jr was convinced to abandon his previous athletic pursuits and devote his time exclusively to Burby. Jr brings a James Loney style hitting approach and Jeff Juden track record to the mound.
Harmon Brar was a multi sport star athlete at Stephen Leacock C.I. Harmon also had a successful career for the U of T Varsity Blues as a power hitting 3B and pitcher. Brar is happy to come out of retirement and join the TBL.
John Gurnham was a multi sport star at Etobicoke C.I. John also played basketball at Guelph university and brings his big time fastball to the TBL.

*Annex will divide their home games up this season. When they face a West end team they'll host at Diplimatico Field and when they host an East team they will play at Oakridge.*
