TBL PLAYER PROFILE - JEFF SNOW
MAN ON FIRE
Leslieville's Jeff Snow has been tearing up the TBL in all facets of the game. He led the league in Homers(17) He was a close second in feilding(47 put outs) and he is an elite pitcher (8-0, 83 so's, .58 era) This made him a unanimous choice for MVP of the League. But do we really know much more about the Snowman? Let's take time out to chat with this fiery competitor.
TBL - You have won League MVP, Homerun Champ and Playoff MVP. What's next for Jeff Snow?
JS - A TBL Championship. Sure the accolades are nice. But I want to win a championship. The Brickies have been to the finals the last three years. Hopefully next year, 4th time the charm?
TBL - How tough was that loss to the Birch Cliff Bears in the 2012 finals?
JS - That loss to the Bears was a tough one. The Brickies were firing on all cylinders in the playoffs. But the Bears shut us down. Darby pitched a hell of a game. Along with the clutch hitting from Jeremy Parry and then having to face Stoner to close out the game. We just couldn't get a run. The Bears are a great team. Can't wait to face them again next season.
TBL - you made quite the late season push at the end of 2012 after an up and down season. What changed to put you on fire?
JS - I don't know what changed or if anything changed. Some games I felt really good. Other games I didn't. I guess, I just got into one of those grooves near the end of the season.
TBL - Regarding your bat. It's way too short. It's way too light(-13) with not a lot of pop and it says "Approved by Dixie youth and Pony Baseball" on the side. Yet you are able to mash the ball better than most TBLers. Please explain your secret Oh king of the Tykes.
JS - Haha! Does it really say "Approved by Dixie Youth and Pony Baseball?" That's hilarious! I don't know what your talking about, saying that bat has no pop. I disagree. You want to know my secret? Well, I like to play a lot of Mlb The Show on the Playstation. That's it! That's my secret.
TBL - TBLers know about The Snowman and his Burby skills. What can you tell me about the real Jeff Snow.
JS - The real Jeff Snow? Well, I like to think that I'm just a simple down to earth dude. Who loves to play sports. I also play a lot of competitive dodgeball. I just recently competed in a trampoline dodgeball tournament in Los Angeles. We placed 2nd and took home $10,000. First place received $25,000. The tournament was also recorded for T.V. and should air sometime over the Christmas holidays. I also play baseball in the summer. I enjoy competing in obstacle course races such as Spartan Race and Warrior Dash. I plan on doing the Tough Mudder race in May.
TBL - What do you like about playing in the TBL as opposed to other recreational leagues?
JS - I guess I would say the camaraderie. From what I've seen. Everyone in the TBL seems to get along with each other. In other leagues that I play in. You have some teams that just don't like each other. It's a nice change.
TBL - And what do you like about playing for the Brickie's ?
JS - I really enjoy playing with the Brickie's. It's a great team to be a part of. Adrian, Darren and Rocky are always good for some laughs and are awesome burby players.
